Ripple Effect is the duo straps project of hoop artist Jody Poth and straps artist Leah Jones. Jody and Leah specialize in contemporary straps work, and their choreography is influenced by various dance forms as well as martial arts. Their act, “Break my Baby,” depicts two fiery women in conflict, in competition and in love. The act exists in two versions: one that is more flashy and suitable for a cabaret-type venue. The other that is more authentic and nuanced, and suitable for circuses specializing in contemporary work.
